Ramona Pop - new Executive Director of the Federation of German Consumer Organisations

As of 1 July 2022, Ramona Pop will lead the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (vzbv)

On 1 July 2022, Ramona Pop will take over as Executive Director of the Federation of German Consumer Organisations (vzbv). As planned, Jutta Gurkmann, the current Executive Director, will focus again on her role as Director Consumer Policy.

Wolfgang Schuldzinski, Chairman of vzbv’s Board of Governance: “We are very pleased to welcome Ramona Pop at vzbv. She is an experienced political leader and manager and she will give consumer protection in Germany a strong voice. I would like to thank Jutta Gurkmann who has led vzbv in a dual role as Executive Director and Director Consumer Policy during the interim phase. She will continue to do so until Ramona Pop takes up her position.”

Ramona Pop was most recently a Mayor of Berlin until the end of 2021, as well as Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises in Michael Müller's second cabinet. A political scientist by training, she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen for more than twenty years, including seven years as leader of the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group in the House of Representatives.
