Energy regulation at the European Level

18.05.2005

In conclusion it is to be noted that the European directives for the electricity and gas market have provided the necessary impulse for the reform of energy industry law in Germany. vzbv regards a European standard as necessary in the long term for the development of adequate network charges. The opening of markets and the guaranteeing of future supply will possibly require further legislative action. On the other hand, vzbv sees it as imperative that there are no backward steps when it comes to the development of renewable energy sources.
